NAMING THE INVASION OF IRAQ:
Molly recently came across an interesting rumour that if it isn't true should be. The final name of the US invasion of Iraq was Operation Iraqi Freedom. The rumour, however, says that the original name was Operation Iraqi Liberation. Why the change? Look at the following:
Operation Iraqi Liberation =OIL
Whoops. It's hard to say whether this is true or not. The White House did refer to the invasion at least once as OIL. See http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/03/20030324-4.html .
Molly will keep on looking in her spare time. The US forces did fail to catch the obvious at least once. In August of 2003 they referred to an attack on the towns of Ain Lalin and Quara Tapa as Operation Ivy Lightning.
