The Spirit of Giving Pow Wow is to bring the community together to celebrate and honor the teachings of generosity and caring which are integral teachings within the Aboriginal Worldview.
On Thursday, August 27, 2009, not only will we be celebrating our culture with traditional song, dance, and feast, we will also be collecting food donations for Winnipeg Harvest to truly promote and nurture the Spirit of Giving. the event is to support a much larger campaign to be held on October 10th, 2009 to raise awareness and promote the spirit of generosity. The design of the campaign is to ensure the sharing of resources to prevent hunger in the community of Winnipeg.
We welcome all media, and the whole Manitoba community to come join us on that day. The Pow Wow will begin at 1 pm with the first Grand Entry, followed by a feast at 5pm, and a second Grand Entry at 7pm. The Host Drum will be Spirit Rising along with 4 other invited drums.((Dance Registration at 11am-1pm))
