PROPOSAL FOR INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ACTION TO FREE MEXICAN POLITICAL PRISONERS:

As the popular opposition to the neo-liberal policies of the Mexican government have grown so has the repressive actions of the Mexican state in response. Now the government has attacked popular movements across the country, and political prisoners from Atenco, Oaxaca, Yucatan, Chiapas and San Luis Potosi languish in Mexican jails as the state attempts to deny justice to the majority of the Mexican people. The Movement for Justice in El Barrio, an organization of Mexicans in exile in Spanish Harlem NYC, is calling for an international day of action on Tuesday, June 26th, to demand the release of Mexican political prisoners and an end to political repression in Mexico.
