We have great news! BlogCatalog is launching its first coordinated campaign Bloggers Unite For Hunger And Hope on April 29.

BlogCatalog and Heifer International are partnering to call for the end of world hunger and start of hope on April 29. All we ask is that you join thousands of other bloggers and write a post about world hunger on April 29.
You Can Make a Difference.
Right now, more than 500 million people are living in "absolute poverty" and more than 15 million children die of hunger every year.

World Health Organization estimates that one-third of the population is underfed and another third is starving.

Even in the United States, 46 percent of African-American children and 49 percent of Latino children are considered chronically hungry.

Organizations like Heifer International are the solution. Every day in April, Heifer International is lifting people out of poverty by providing communities with livestock and agricultural training to improve lives and inspire hope.

One should neither overestimate nor underestimate the influence of the 'Blogosphere'. In our brave new world the major news media more than frequently consult the blogs to get the news that they eventually disseminate. Still, most blogs are like Molly's, very much of an acquired taste and with only a handful of visitors in a day. My present "baseline" is 100 visitors in a day. It rarely drops below this. But, and it's a big but, this is hardly any mass influence. We all hope to reach more and more people, and I hope that Molly's Blog will do just that in the future.

Now, from the Blog Catalog people is yet another tool to reach people. Their 'Bloggers Unite' site is designed to give your causes the maximum possible exposure. Here's the ad.

Since 2007, Bloggers Unite has been become one of the most visible social awareness campaigns driven by bloggers like you. If you have not seen the sneak previews of how Bloggers Unite has evolved from a small initiative into its own dynamic social network, please visit BloggersUnite.org today. You helped build it!

While we'll still coordinate three major under served social awareness campaigns every year, Bloggers Unite members can now submit and support their own causes as well. Currently, there are 24 international events listed in the new network.

These events are joined by ten local events recently chosen by BlogCatalog members to encourage even more nonprofit organizations to become involved. We're asking for your help too. Bloggers Unite is about bringing bloggers together to do good. With international, national, and local events from all over the world, we can help people think online and act locally offline. Bloggers Unite for Refugees, November 10th‏:
This Nov. 10, all eyes will be on BlogCatalog members and bloggers who participate in Bloggers Unite For Refugees. Will you be one of them?

Ever since we started helping bloggers unite for different causes, we've proven that a little good can go a long way in making the world a better place.

This time, because of our work to increase human rights awareness, many members chose to go one step further to raise awareness for refugees — people who are impacted by these issues. So, on Nov. 10, thousands of bloggers will write about the various challenges faced by the 11 million people who have no country to call home and the 40 million more who have been displaced because of war and natural disasters.

*YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE*

By writing just one post for this cause, you can help raise awareness about refugees and help our partner, Refugees United, connect with local non-government organizations (NGOs) to help refugees in their search for lost loved ones. Their goal is to reunite children with parents, husbands with wives, and family members with friends.
