WHERE NOT TO SHOP FOR MOTHERS' DAY:

Mothers' Day is just around the corner, and Molly is in search of an appropriate gift. A nice bouquet garnished with a few sprigs of catnip would be appreciated. But one place not to shop...Wal Mart. The people over at the Wake Up Wal-Mart organization have been campaigning for years around the various ways that Wal Mart short changes workers and communities. In the run up to Mothers' Day they have launched a "Moms Deserve Better Than Wal-Mart" campaign. They are looking for people to sign a pledge that will be forwarded to the corporation saying that you refuse to buy Mothers' Day gifts from Wal-Mart unless they promise to pay a living wage, provide affordable health care and end their anti-family policies that hurt all women, especially moms, who work at Wal-Mart. Drop on over to the website bookmarked above to join this campaign and to see what else is new in the world of information about and of putting pressure on Wal-Mart.
