EVENTS AT MONDAGON:
Many, many, many events down at the 'Drag' (91 Albert St.) this month. After the successful meeting with representatives of Hollow Water First Nation where people from the local aboriginal community had the opportunity to present their own case that has been hidden by the mass media (October 5th) the Mondragon people have much more to offer in the month of October.
MONDRAGON BOOK CLUB:
"Come to the Radical Reading Group last Sunday of the month . This month's book is 'Anarchism:A Very Short Introduction' by Colin Ward. JAMMING THE DRAG:
Thursday, October 11th(Monthly: September-April) 6:00-9:00 FREE. Mondragon presents an ongoing series of experimental and electronic music hosted by Prof. Gordon Fitznell of the University of Manitoba. Gordon teaches music theory and composition, and leads2 the interdisciplinary Experimental Imrove Ensemble (XIE). Gordon has received many national and international performances, commissions and awards, including first prise in the electro-acoustic music category at the CBC Radio national Competition for Young Composers.
WAR ON MUSIC:
Saturday, October 13th come out and support local coops plus see some awesome bands with this WAR ON MUSIC fundraiser featuring Under Pressure, Born bad, and Modern Problems.Doors open at 7. Show at 8:00 pm at the Drag.
FALL FUNDRAISING DINNER:
Sunday, October 26th. Come join the members, workers, friends, and supporters of 91 Albert St. as we celebrate the contributions of the A-Zone to the radical community of the city. Prepare for a five course meal including delicious autumn harvest, a complimentary alcoholic beverage, desert, live entertainment and a presentation of the past, present and future of the A-Zone. Seating at 5:00. Dinner served ast 6:00 pm. Tickets $35 each or $60/pair available in advance at Mondragon.
