OVERVIEW:
JOEY ONLY and RAE SPOON may be two of the most left field canuck folksingers going. Both of them are set to release brand new albums and plan to tour extensively in the summer of 2008. The last time Joey Only and Rae Spoon toured together was in the fall of 2006, but that was Eastern Canada. This time they'll be checking into the fabulous Railway Club in Vancouver, the South Okanogan Art Gallery in Penticton, the Grateful Fed Cafe in Kelowna and little old Nanton Alberta's quaint Main Street Cafe.
Both Joey and Rae have been compared to songwriters like Woody Guthrie and have been inspired by folks like U.Utah Phillips and for good reasons.
Rae and Joey have been friends ever since May 2004 when they were thrown on stage together in Peterborough Ontario. Joey's show in Peterborough was postponed for a week when he turned up in a Montreal jail cell after an anti-Jean Charest protest turned into a scene of mass arrests. Because of that ugly postponement Joey found himself on stage with Rae by accident the following week. Rae was just starting to build his tour circuit through the country back then inspiring people with his blistering eyes,utter honesty and darkish humour.
That was four years ago, these two have come a long way since. You'll really have to come see for yourselves.

BRIEF BIOGRAPHIES:
RAE SPOON, the Alberta-born, transgender identified artist has spent most of his twenties on the road (mostly on greyhounds besides a brief stint a white hearse). Touring has taken him across Canada over ten times as well as to the USA, Australia and Europe (The UK, Germany, the Netherlands,Poland, and Ireland). Rae has spent nearly four straight years touring the world while his act just keeps getting better and better. Regularly performs with people like Ivan Coyote and Rodney Decroo and is a regular on festival stages throughout Canada.
JOEY ONLY the Ontario-born outlaw folksinger has spent the winter of 07-08 taking time off his touring schedule by living in Nanton Alberta and regrouping. His six piece JOEY ONLY OUTLAW BAND has just recorded the 11tracks for their new album 'FIRE ON ANARCHIST MOUNTAIN' and they are enthusiastic about the results. Joey has played in every major city in Canada and has grown a following of faithful supporters coast to coast. He is known for his punky approach to roots and folk music, his deep knowledge of the history of radical/working class folk music, his deep 'Cash-like' voice and his remarkably comical story telling abilities.
