ONTARIO EVENTS:
APPEALS FROM OCAP: TWO UPCOMING DEMONSTRATIONS:
The Ontario Coalition Against Poverty (OCAP) has sent out calls for participation in two demonstrations in the next two days. The first is a demonstration tomorrow, Friday, January 25th at the Israeli Consulate at 180 Bloor St. West, Toronto. It is calling for the end of the present Israeli siege of the Gaza Strip. Time 5:00 pm. Sponsors are the Palestine House and the Jewish Women's Committee to End the Occupation.
The second demonstration is set for Saturday, January 26th at the Toronto Immigration Offices, at 9:30 am. You are asked to meet first at the OISE at 252 Bloor St. West where buses will be carrying people to the offices. This is part of the National days of Action to Support Laibar Singh. Mr. Singh is a paralyzed refugee whose deportation by Immigration Canada was halted by direct action in Vancouver (see previously here at Molly's Blog). He is presently in sanctuary at the Surrey Guru Nanak Gurudwara in Surrey BC.
