Burgerville with its chain of 39 restaurants located across Oregon and Southwest Washington State, claims to have the mission of "serving with love". They talk about "how each of us can choose to be a positive difference in the midst of change". With a mission like this it is incomprehensible why Burgerville has chosen to ignore the plight of feedlot workers who are critical in bringing Burgerville the beef that it serves to its customers.

Until recently Burgerville proudly announced on the front of their website that 100% of their beef came from Country Natural Beef. Country Natural Beef comes through Beef Northwest's Boardman feed lot. Workers at Beef Northwest have been fighting for a UFW contract. They want better wages, more respect from management, a medical plan they can afford to use and a safer workplace. Instead, Beef Northwest's management is doing all it can to deny workers their opportunity to have a union.

Why would Burgerville, who claims to care about a healthy local economy, ignore Washington and Oregon labour leaders who are urging them to help solve the workplace abuses found at Beef Northwest ? Ask Burgerville, where is the love in your decision to ignore the plight of the Beef Northwest feedlot workers who are so important to the product you sell ? Your customers want to know.
