PERSONAL
HERE AT MOLLY'S BLOG:

Molly has a confession to make. I was a murderous little kid. Of course a lot of my detractors knew this all along. Back where I grew up in rural Saskatchewan it was considered something of a patriotic duty to wage perpetual and unrelenting war against the gophers and crows. I did my part, though I have to admit that other kids outdid me in sadistic ways to dispose of the cs and gs. What I specialized in was the eternal war against the insects. Well the crawling ones anyways. Most of the flying ones were exempt. I actually liked them.

One of the residues of my childhood is what may be an unreasonable attachment to spiders. To this day, even as I enter into the first stage of my dotage, I get upset when I see someone kill a spider, and I do my best to plead for their lives. If I find a spider in an less than advantageous place I carry him or her to a place where it is likely to find prey. We were always on the same side after all.

This is a meandering way of explaining why I don't set up this blog so that commentators have to sign in via a code to post here. My "liberalism" here means that Molly's Blog gets more than its fair share of spam comments. Well....I love them. Every once in awhile I sweep through the old posts and amuse myself by killing these bugs ie deleting them. The fools usually make my task quite easy by "building nests" ie they will post dozens of comments on one blog post. To an unreformed insect killer this is like stumbling on the pot of gold. Kill, kill, kill with minimal effort.

Thank you spammers. You help me relive the "innocence" of childhood.

BLOGGING HERE AT MOLLY'S BLOG:
HELP FIND THE ZOMBIES:
Anyone who takes a glance at our Links section which we hope to make a comprehensive list of anarchist and libertarian socialist contacts on the internet will see how extensive it is. The Links are always in state of upgrade, pretty well from day to day, but because of their extent there are often dead links that we miss deleting. Some of them are on the various "to-do" lists, but a large number are ones we are unaware of. Checking all the links would probably take the better part of two days.
So...we're asking for our readers' help. We've opened up an item over at Molly's Suggestion Box (see sidebar) where you can list any dead links as a comment to the post. Or you can do it here of course.
Another thing where help would be appreciated would be in the deletion of commercial spam from the comments. I try to keep current with this, but I have little doubt that many items in the Archives have loads of such items attached as comments. If you come across such things try to post us either here or at the suggestion box. Give date and title of the blog post, and we'll try and make it a priority to get around to deleting the spam.
Any help you can give us on these matters would be greatly appreciated.

BLOGGING:
MOLLY IS PISSED OFF ONCE AGAIN:
Sometime during the last hour this blog has been spammed by someone calling himself "Hammertime". He has posted nothing more than his address in multiple posts on this blog. My first thought, judging from the name, was that this was some fascist nut. Wrong ! Going to the site mentioned I found out that he is an incredibly illiterate fool who imagines that his blog is somehow supportive of the NDP. A sample of his mastery of the English language follows below(no editing this time)...

"anonymous your pathetic Non-Responsive Response continues with no shame or any intelligences or political facts at all, but more noise after noise etc etc etc ie strawman, fault economy moot points to no end but thats typical CORPORATE BAYSTREET BOARD ROOM CONSERVATIVE/Liberal CONSERVATIVE the parties of EXPLOITATION AND OPPRESSION yesterday today and tomorrow. VOTE NDP/NPD RE-ELECT NDP TONY MARTIN MP www.ndp.ca www.ontariondp.com"

My God ! We have a Shakespeare in our midst. Bad drugs ! Bad drugs! A long time ago I said that I would never delete replies here just because I didn't agree with them. I will soon be going down all the posts that this fool has spammed, and deleting every single one of his addresses. The address is ALL that he has left anywhere. So, pick it up while it's still here kiddies. I do this, not because I dislike the NDP, but rather because I am actually doing them a big favour. Molly does her level best to insult and demean idiots who have adopted the anarchist tag. If I was a member of the NDP I'd be just as determined to get rid of fools like this. You never have to be embarrassed by those who are your enemies, but those who want to claim your friendship can be very shame producing. I am also annoyed by the childish manner in which this ad has been presented. I've let more than one simple ad for a blog or website pass by here at Molly's Blog (as long as it wasn't commercial), but the impolite and offensive way in which this fool puts his tag at the end of multiple posts gets my goat. I went to the site mentioned, and I found out that others have complained of him doing the same thing. There is such a thing as an "habitual criminal", and I guess that there are also "habitual idiots". If Mr. "Hammer" wants to do the NDP a great kindness he will desert to the Conservatives and embarrass them.

Wisdom From The Spam:
As I've mentioned before I regularly try to delete comments on this blog that offer you a failsafe method of doubling your money or getting free "anything". I'd rather continue with this policy than set up barriers to posting, not least because "I like killing worms". It's an infantile holdover from childhood where I waged war on vermin just like any other child in rural Saskatchewan. We were encouraged in this "hobby" by every adult that we knew even though the war was impossible. The vermin will always outbreed your attempts to kill it. Seems like politics, radical or otherwise, to me.
In my latest sweep I came across the following gem on my gateway email pathway:
"The invention of TV hasn't contributed the world as much as the Penis Enlarge Patch"
As soon as I deleted it I realized that truer words were never spoken. Nobody will ever get a bigger pecker from the PEP, but, on the other hand, it will never do any harm beyond the 15 people in the entire world willing to ante up to the nonsense. That can't be said about television.
I can remember "television hunting" from my younger days. At that time I lived with a woman who had two children. At that time, also, I was buying junk televisions at auctions for $5, repairing them, and selling them for $50. I came around the corner from the kitchen to the living room, and I watched the yard apes glued in front of the television watching 'The Beverly Hillbillies'. It looked very interesting so I took to timing the animal behavior. I can't remember the exact numbers, but it took between 5 and 10 minutes for a forkful of spaghetti to make its transit from the plate to the girl's mouth. The boy was similar. The blank look on their faces was impressive.
Whoa, I say. My scam has consequences. When the weekend came I took every last TV in the house out to the country and invited a couple of friends. I also bought two gallons !! of cheap wine. We all brought our rifles. Around the campfire we practiced our "marksmanship" by blowing the TVs to pieces one by one. At least the bullets flew in approximately the right direction, and I can say from experience that TVs are really neat when they implode.
Hic and double hic ! When we all dragged ourselves off the ground the next morning with 10 to the 27th power worth of mosquito bites and hangovers that defy the power of human description I worked my nauseous way back to home. The "welcoming" party was waiting. Appreciate that the woman was an Italian from Torino. Ow,ow and double ow ! Tough shit. The machines are gone. I'll get back to the argument on Sunday as soon as I get some bug free sleep.
So.......sleep secure anyone who may answer such an ad. The "patch" may not make your pecker so long that you routinely trip over it when walking, but at least it's better than watching TV. Take it from an experienced "TV hunter". It gives "Deliverance" a whole new meaning.

Deleting Spam:
Just removed another comment that promises "shopping paradise" from one of the posts. This is only item #2. I will probably never remove a legitimate comment, no matter what it says, but the web bots ads are a very different matter.
