CANADIAN ANARCHIST MOVEMENT-REGINA:
ROCKING THE BOAT BOOKS NEEDS HELP:
Molly has received the following appeal from Turning the Tide Books in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan for support of their sister organization Rock the Boat Books in Regina. Seems that this infoshop start-up has run into difficulties ie a theft. Help them out if you can.
@@@@@@@@
Dear Friends,
Rock the Boat Books (Regina’s sister organization to Turning the Tide) was the victim of a most unfortunate turn of events recently. The book project which operates only in a book-tabling capacity and has no store front, had their storage space broken into and the money in their cash box stolen. The amount of money that was stolen was significant and enough to set back the fledgling book project in their efforts in establishing themselves and move towards opening a store.
As many of you recognize the need for alternative voices and viewpoints in the world of books and media, I am asking you to consider supporting this important progressive book project in getting back on its feet. To that end, Turning the Tide will be accepting donations in the form of cash or cheque in the Saskatoon area for Rock the Boat. Donations can be dropped off or mailed to the address below. Please make the cheques out to Rock the Boat Books.
If you are outside the Saskatoon area, please send cheques directly to:
Rock the Boat
2138 McIntyre Street
Regina, SK

Thank you for your consideration.
In solidarity,
Peter Garden

ANARCHIST MOVEMENT:
VANCOUVER-SPARTACUS BOOKS IS MOVING:
Since 1972 (or is it 1973?) Vancouver's Spartacus Books has been fighting the good fight, bring radical literature to the lower mainland community. Rebuilding after a fire a few years ago they have come back strong. Now, just like Exile Books in Ottawa, they are moving once more to what one hopes are even bigger and better premises. The present address is 319 West Hastings, and in mid-May they will be moving on to 684 East Hastings, with a grand re-opening in mid-June. Big bargains now on sale to clear the shelves for the move. Drop on down if you live in Vancouver. Stay tuned to their website for more details.

OTTAWA:
BIGGER AND BETTER DIGS FOR EXILE BOOKS:
Ottawa's anarchist bookstore and Infoshop Exile Books is moving to bigger and better premises. But they don't have far to go. Read all about it below.
......................................

Some exciting news from the Infoshop: We’re moving!!! Ok, it’s only across the hall to a larger, brighter, and relatively (given the dominance of “markets”) affordable space.

The new space will be located in Suite 200 (formally A & H Records) of our current building, 256 Bank St. It has three large windows that can be seen from Bank St., and the floor space is more than double our current room.

In this new space we will be able to provide a larger and more serene lending/reading library, expanded books/zines/accessories selection, we will be adding a commercial music section, and we will also provide more free computers, free wire-less internet, and fairly traded Zapatista coffee. It will have a large, decorated, launching-pad for the revolution. Militants with heart-conditions, please be advised. Unfortunately, due to the fact we are remaining in the same building, we are still not fully accessible. We should note that we still believe this location is temporary (and the best from limited options) and will continue to plan for an accessible, permanent, move in the nearish future.
Nonetheless, WE WILL BE RE-OPENING MAYDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In our efforts to prepare the new space for coffee, intellectual romance, and summer of fire and rage, we are launching a funding blitzkrieg. We aim to collect 2000 bucks by Mayday and we are hoping that YOU can help reach our goal. Please consider making a donation. Cash received will go directly into preparations for the new space.
